I’m Max Feliu, a video journalist born and raised in Barcelona, Spain. Growing up in a multicultural household, I developed a passion for storytelling that connects different communities with new perspectives. That passion has taken me to an Emmy nomination and led me to report for the Associated Press and PBS. I’m driven by journalism that elevates communities as they navigate challenges, with a commitment to telling stories that might otherwise go unheard.
Joining the Guardian US’s video team represents the perfect opportunity to deepen these skills. I am eager to contribute my experience while learning from the some of the best journalists in the United States. Daniel Wright had two minutes to evacuate his home of 20 years when the most powerful Atlantic hurricane since Katrina struck Western North Carolina in September 2024. Hours later, a river of toxic mud consumed everything his family had built.
